99 lives:
On the first level, go through the entire level but not to the end. Intentionally lose your life near the end. Keep repeating this and you have eventually have 99 lives.

Secret area:
On the hill where the giant rock follows you, drop down the longest second section. You should land on a drum and bounce up and end up in a secret area.
